The officials who described the developments did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to disclose them. The big auto companies — General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC — have been seeking government loans totaling $25 billion to stay in business until spring.see more on NewsOK.com [guid] => 25fda9d103d51f987b6c93e7f583b38b [pubDate] => Thu, 20 Nov 2008 20:29:23 +0000 )

Something to Think About

"A wise man will hear and increase learning."   Proverbs 1:5

If you continually invest in your leadership development, the inevitable result over time is growth. Although it's true that some people are born with greater natural gifts than others, the ability to lead is really a collection of skills, nearly all of which can be learned and improved. But that process doesn't happen overnight. Leadership is complicated. It has many facets: respect, experience, emotional strength, people skills, discipline, vision, momentum, timing - the list goes on. That's why leaders require so much seasoning to be effective.

Successful leaders are learners. And the learning process is on going, a result of self-discipline and perseverance. The goal each day must be to get a little better, to build on the previous day's lessons. To reach the highest level of effectiveness, you have to raise the lid on your leadership ability. The good news is that you can - if you are willing to pay the price to change.
